JACKSON, Tenn. – Obesity remains a major problem in the United States, and data shows it affects around 40% of Americans.
While surveys suggest that the majority of people have tried at least one weight loss strategy, Dr. Rekha Kumar, an expert in obesity medicine, provides insight into why they aren’t always successful.
“Fresh diets are often not rooted in science and can promise unrealistic expectations of weight loss in a short period of time, and sometimes people lose weight at first, but they are often a setup for weight gain because they may not be sustainable. said Dr. kumar
dr Kumar is Chief Medical Officer of Found, a digital health platform that combines personalized medicine with health coaching and engagement in a community of members.
Participants make an initial assessment that determines whether they will follow a “wellness pathway” or a “medication pathway.” From there, they are matched with experts who work with them one-on-one to develop a personal weight loss strategy based on their own biological factors.
The app’s community feature also allows participants to connect with other users to share goals and get support.
