It is the season of festivals in our country as people across India celebrate Makar Sankranti to mark a new beginning by praying to the sun god. In Punjab and other North Indian states, Lohri is celebrated during this season where people celebrate the harvest of the Rabi crop by eating rewris, jaggery and sesame-based dishes, popcorn and peanuts.

What if we told you that a special Lohri snack can support your hair growth? Well, one nutritionist revealed this in one of her latest social media posts. Taking to her social media, Juhi Kapoor shared a recipe for a special Lohri seed blend that can do wonders for hair growth. You can have this as a snack and also eat it with salads.

Nutritionist Juhi Kapoor shared a video on her Instagram with the caption: “In this video I’m sharing a simple special Lohri seed mix – you can use this as a daily mukhwaas or snack. It works wonders for hair growth with its protein, mineral and antioxidant benefits.”

ingredients

  • 1 tbsp flaxseed (Alsi)
  • 1 tbsp sesame (up to)
  • 1 tbsp black cumin (kalonji)
  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds (Saunf)
  • 15-20 g candy sugar (grind poorly and add)
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp mango powder (amchur)

Things to note:

  • Make sure the seeds are properly toasted before adding them to this recipe
  • Roast each seed separately as they have different heat sensitivities
  • Always store in airtight containers

How to consume?

  • 1 tsp daily either on top of your salad or after your meals (as mukhwaas)
  • You can consume throughout the season as it is balanced in potency with the combination of ingredients.
