The video shows the male victim standing with two women while holding a shopping bag near Melrose Avenue and Vista Street when a Dodge Avenger drives towards them and the two robbers get out of the car around 7:10 p.m. on Monday jumped.

The apparent escape driver of the failed robbers then turns around to drive off without them, when the two attackers then disperse.

“Apparently words have been exchanged and the victim eventually produces a handgun, apparently to defend himself and others in his group from the alleged robbery suspects,” Los Angeles police said in a press release.

Los Angeles police said Wednesday that the two suspects have been arrested – although police are still looking for their driver.

The police are also asking for public help in identifying the victim and looking for witnesses who may have seen the failed attempted robbery.

Nicholas Brown (22) and Markeil Hayes (28) were arrested for attempted robbery, police said on Wednesday.

Brown, currently on parole on another sentence, sustained a gunshot wound to his left thigh.

Hayes, who is also currently on parole, sustained a gunshot wound to the right calf.
