Focused on keeping people healthy, Stellantis partners with ProMedica Health System to deliver a personalized, comprehensive health and wellness experience, supported by a leading and respected healthcare system in a new, state-of-the-art medical center.
Opening in July for employees and their families, this new health and wellness center will provide easy access to services such as preventive and acute care, chronic disease management, infant/child care, women’s health services, behavioral health services, physical therapy, nutrition and health education coaching , advanced medical diagnostics, virtual care options, pharmacy services and more.
“As a global automaker and mobility provider with a diverse and talented workforce, Stellantis understands that investing in the health and well-being of our employees is good business,” said Stellantis Tobin J Williams, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Stellantis North America. “Our goal in opening this facility is to improve our employees’ access to quality and convenient healthcare.”
The 12,000 square foot health and wellness center at 3500 Executive Parkway will feature 13 examination rooms, eight consultation, laboratory and treatment rooms and a large physical therapy area. It will provide all Stellantis employees and their insured family members enrolled in the company’s health insurance plans with a convenient, low-cost to no-cost option for acute, preventive, and wellness-focused primary care services.
Employees represented by the UAW will not be billed for office visits when using the services offered by the clinic. And because this is a non-traditional medical practice, appointment times are expected to be longer to ensure there is adequate time for each patient’s medical needs.
“We are delighted to partner with Stellantis on a premier, dedicated family health and wellness center in the north west of the country Ohio staff,” said Kent Bishop, MD, President, ProMedica Physicians and Chief Medical Officer for ProMedica Physicians, Pharmacy and Acute Care. “ProMedica’s expert nursing team is committed to helping Stellantis employees and their eligible family members improve their health and well-being by providing coordinated, customized, and convenient essential care and wellness services. With the potential to offer cost savings to patients and encourage a healthier workforce, this new clinic represents a win-win for Stellantis and its on-site staff.”
With same-day appointments, extended hours, and virtual care options, the center will connect employees with multiple first responders and needed wellness services. The care plans focus on a comprehensive wellness approach that encompasses lifestyle, fitness and medical integrations, providing a unique opportunity to treat chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes.
ProMedica currently provides care at six on-site/nearby health and wellness centers representing 13 employer clients. ProMedica has more than 1,200 physicians and advanced practice providers with 2 million patient visits per year Ohio and Michigan.
Stellantis, with support from the UAW, was the first domestic automaker to move into a nearby health and wellness center by opening a location Kokomo, Indianain 2018. Toledo is the fourth center opened by the company, which also includes locations in Belvidere, Illinoisand in Detroit, Mich.
“Given the high per capita healthcare costs and the difficulty for employees in accessing primary care services, Stellantis is excited for ProMedica to provide an easily accessible, personalized and distinctive healthcare experience,” said Williams of Stellantis.
“The UAW appreciates that Stellantis maintains its commitment to opening multiple family health and wellness centers that provide complimentary access to services for members and their eligible dependents,” he said Cindy Estrada, Vice President of the UAW and Director of the UAW’s Stellantis Division. “We are confident that by partnering with ProMedica, the new Toledo Health and Wellness Center will provide our members with the quality service they well deserve.”
