A suspect in the double shooting was shot dead in Pittsburgh around 7 p.m. near the intersection of Brushton Avenue and Mohler Street, law enforcement sources tell Pittsburgh’s Action News 4. Around 2 p.m., police encountered a wanted suspect in the Brackenridge-Tarentum area. Police followed the suspect on foot nearby for several hours. At approximately 4:15 p.m., a Brackenridge officer encountered the suspect at the 800 block of Third Street. Two shootings followed this chase, one in which the suspect was found on Third Street and the other several blocks down Brackenridge Avenue. One officer was shot in the head and died at the scene. Another officer was shot in the leg and taken to a local hospital. The second officer is now in stable condition. According to Allegheny County, first responders were originally located in the area of Brackenridge Avenue and Morgan Street near Tomson Scrap Metal. Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 encountered a SWAT team in the Prospect Street and 6th Avenue area. In a briefing, police said they were looking for Aaron Lamont Swan, 28, of Duquesne, in connection with the shooting. After the shooting, Swan fled in a stolen car down Pacific Avenue, law enforcement officials said. Police are looking for a 2014 Subaru Legacy, Pennsylvania license number GMA8620, last seen at the 1100 block of Pacific Ave. Was seen. In response, several roads were closed in Brackenridge.
