Northborough – Patricia F. (Fontano) Gallo, 81, of Northborough and formerly of Rutland, VT, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home after illness. Her loving family surrounded her bed as she passed.

She was passed away in August 2017 by her beloved husband Sal J. Gallo. Patricia is survived by the devoted children Kimberly G. Church, Kelley A. Gallo, Lisa Ruberti and her husband David and Daniel J. Gallo; her grandsons Sean C. Church and his sister Emily S. Church, Shea Gallo-Kolegue, Deven S. Ruberti, Dylan P. Ruberti, and Angelina M. Ruberti; her loving brother-in-law James Gallo; her nieces and nephews Andrew Gallo, Tracy Niebauer, Ann Marie Gilroy, Jennifer Birchler and Timothy Shedd; as well as her loving extended family and friends.

Patricia was born and raised in Rutland, VT, the only child of the late Louis J. and Marie C. (Keough) Fontano. She was a proud graduate of Lenox Hill Hospital School of Nursing in New York City where she began her career. Patricia later earned her bachelor’s degree from New England College of New Hampshire. She ended her career as a home care professional with Merrimack Valley Nursing in Lowell, MA.

In her free time, she enjoyed playing bocce, mahjong, bowling, card games and loved her daily Boston Globe crossword puzzle. She was a fabulous cook, baker and perfect dinner hostess. She was an avid reader and loved reading good mysteries. What she treasured most was spending time with her loving children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins ​​and closest friends. She never missed a sporting event, concert, music night, graduation, and most importantly, party!

Patricia selflessly made time for everyone important in her life and with the kindness of her heart graciously demonstrated compassion and empathy for those in need. She cherished all the gifts that were bestowed upon her in her healthy 81 years and made sure her family knew how special we are in their hearts. Patricia will live on in our hearts, memories and dreams. Regret nothing. Live life to the fullest and be happy.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate their funeral mass on Friday 17 June 2022 at 12 noon at St Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Details of the reception will be announced at the end of Mass and the funeral will be held privately for her family.
