How JRNY works with motion tracking
After downloading the JRNY app, users create a profile stating what dumbbells they have. They also provide multiple preferences for their workouts to set a baseline and personalize future workout recommendations. Motion tracking workouts appear in the Dumbbells program category and are labeled as Adaptive.
To take advantage of Intelligent Coaching, users navigate to the Dumbbells program category and look for the Adaptive Program tag in the workouts.
At the beginning of the workout, users initialize the two-movement motion tracking technology for optimal tracking. Throughout the workout, the app tracks 15+ strategic points to determine location, direction, and speed of movement to assess form and count reps.
The time remaining in a movement interval, the number of repetitions completed and remaining, and the weight required for the next interval are conveniently displayed on the screen.
An AI voice assistant provides intelligent coaching and responds to commands such as actual weight updates.
“When it’s possible to track almost anything, figuring out what’s important can be overwhelming,” Citti said. “Movement tracking is key to providing meaningful, non-judgmental feedback, which can make each workout count both in the moment and over time as users make progress towards their goals.”
