When you are trying to lose weight and cannot figure out why you are not getting results, here are three reasons you may not experience weight loss. Amanda Nighbert, a registered nutritionist, lists these three simple reasons below.
Sometimes we think about weight loss. Number one is that you are not drinking enough water. In order to metabolize fat, you need to drink enough fluids. So try to consume half your body weight in water every day.
Number two is that you are not getting enough protein. Most people need at least half their body weight in protein. So water and protein are the same. Again, just like water, you can’t burn fat without enough protein. So prioritize protein in your meals.
Number three is that you are not getting enough sleep. Sleep is so important to recovery and weight loss and it is something that we overlook in the long run. Sleep becomes more and more important for weight loss, especially with increasing age.
It will take most people around six to eight hours a night, but the quality of your sleep is more important than the quantity. I would prefer the night’s rest the most, but a quick nap is never bad.
