Megan Crumpler admits she’s jealous of Vannessa Cross’s weight reduction in Season 2

Now that the new season of 1,000lb Best Friends has premiered on TLC, fans are excited to see how the four women navigate their weight loss journey. Let’s face it, weight loss is never easy. Even with professional help, no two people have the same results.

In the first episode of Season 2, Vannessa Cross, Meghan Crumpler, Tina Arnold and Ashley Sutton encourage each other to stay healthy. However, Crumpler’s behavior was not well received by viewers. In fact, they were quite upset when she admitted to being jealous of Cross’s weight loss in the season 2 premiere.

Vannessa Cross looks better than ever in Season 2 of 1000-lb Best Friends

Ironically, Cross seems to have been the least motivated to lose weight in the past. It’s really no secret that she has struggled and has always fluctuated between 350 and 500 pounds.

According to InTouch, Cross said her doctor gave her a goal of getting under 400 pounds, but she “spent most of her time ignoring my diet.” Things seem to be taking a turn for the better. So what does Cross himself have to say? Well, she tells viewers:

“It has been around six months since my surgery and I am very happy with how things are going. Since the operation I have learned to eat better and healthier. I started exercising three or four times a week. I’ve pushed myself to every limit I can reach.

These last few months have been so tough. But darling, let me tell you the weight has come off. I feel great.”

While it seems Cross’ friends should be thrilled with her accomplishments, it seems one person didn’t feel that way. In the season premiere, Crumpler appeared to lose control of her weight loss journey. She is under a lot of stress while planning her wedding to Jon. The Hoschton, Georgia resident explains, “My life feels like it’s in a thousand pieces right now. I’m kind of out of control.”

Crumpler admits he’s jealous of Cross’s weight loss. She even said during the hour-long premiere, “I’m very, very proud of Vanessa and where she is and where she’s from. But there’s a tiny, tiny little part of me that’s super jealous and the fact that I wish I was still in that phase — the honeymoon phase.”

Crumpler even had a meltdown at the doctor’s office after learning she’d gained 12 pounds in the past six months. She stormed out and said she felt like the doctor was calling her a “failure.” Nonetheless, Cross gave her own contribution:

“I’m proud of [Megan]. Hopefully she’s turned this new leaf to where she’s more pushing to start losing weight again. But it just takes a little word, a text, someone saying something bad about their clothes, someone saying something positive about me, that will upset them and send them back to their old ways.”

Weighing in Vannessa Cross with Dr. proctor

Cross makes significant progress on her journey. Looks like determination and hard work are really paying off! What did Cross say about that? According to the reality star, “On the day of my surgery, I weighed 398 pounds. dr Proctor wanted me to lose at least 100 pounds between surgery and now.”

When she stepped on the scale, she weighed 304. “Seeing that number on the scale always makes me want more and more. And it made me so happy to know that I’m doing the right thing. I’m on the right track. No matter how hard I tried, I didn’t give up. Now I understand why I did it.”
