Incredibly easy to mix, this deep pore cleanser should leave your skin feeling clean and fresh instantly. All you need is baking soda and water. Mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda with 1 teaspoon of warm water until it has a pasty texture. Apply to your face, especially on areas where blackheads are most prevalent, like your nose and chin. You have the option of leaving the paste on your face like a mask for about 10 minutes, or rinsing it off immediately, just like you would with a face scrub (via Medical News Today). Alternatively, it could also be applied selectively.
Depending on the size of your pores, you may want to add baking soda scrub to your skincare routine on a regular basis. And don’t be discouraged if it takes a little more effort than you expected to achieve clear pores and glowing skin. Healthy habits and proactive grooming can go a long way, but genetics can also be a hindrance. “Pore sizes and counts vary greatly by gender, body location, and ethnicity,” Tiffany Libby, MD, FAAD, a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon, told Byrdie. “Like many other traits, they are largely genetic.”
