Does premature hair graying cause nightmares? Are you looking for ways to undo it? Don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place.
Here is some good news for you – it is possible to reverse and reduce premature hair graying through simple and effective home remedies, said Lavleen Kaur, Co-Founder and Chief Dietician of Diet Insight.
“Graying hair is a normal part of the aging Process. Millions of hair follicles on your skin contain a pigment called melanin. As you age, these hair follicles lose their natural pigment, resulting in gray hair, ”Lavleen said.
But first let’s find out the causes premature gray hair and how to deal with them.
Lack of nutrition
It has been discovered that certain nutrients play an important role in premature graying. For example, studies show that deficiencies in iron, copper, B vitamins, and iodine Omega 3 causes gray hair, which is why it must be included in the diet. On the other hand, packaged, junk, refined, or processed foods can add even more graying out. Therefore, pay attention to your diet, as improper nutrition can be a major cause of premature graying.
Increased stress leads to the release of a chemical called norepinephrine into the follicle. This chemical affects the melanocyte stem cells, causing them to quickly turn into pigment cells and migrate out of the hair follicles, resulting in gray hair.
The most important factors are stress and diet, but they are not the only ones. Early graying of hair can also be due to other factors such as genetics, hormonal imbalances or even as a side effect of certain medical conditions such as constipation or. caused anemia.
There are several combinations that can help delay graying out. Here are a few tips:
Improve your diet
The number one solution to any health problem – including premature hair graying – is to correct your eating routine. There are a few foods that you must eat to restore your black, shiny hair. Copper-rich foods include cashew nuts, potatoes, chickpeas, almonds, mushrooms, and so on.
Nuts and seeds are the second most important foods to include in your diet. Nuts like almonds, walnuts and pumpkin seeds contain significant amounts of copper, which stimulates melanin synthesis and leads to increased pigmentation in your hair.
“It is also important to consume food sources rich in B vitamins such as quark, paneer, banana, Carrots, or even a vegetable juice of your choice will help reduce premature graying. They work by increasing the supply of oxygen to the body, which helps keep your cells healthy and active, which results in strong, supple hair, ”Lavleen said.
Simply put, a balanced diet high in essential minerals like copper, vitamin B, omega 3, iron and iodine shouldn’t be neglected.
Homemade coconut oil
Nothing beats natural homemade oil and it is very easy to prepare. You only need 500 ml of coconut oil, 1 tablespoon of onion seeds, 1 tablespoon of methi seeds and 1 tablespoon of dried curry leaf powder. Mix thoroughly and leave in the sun for four to five days before using.
“It’s a tested method that has proven beneficial for many people in restoring and long-term natural hair color,” said Lavleen.
Amla is high in antioxidants and also has antiaging properties that can help reverse premature gray hair. There are several ways that you can benefit from this fruit. You can wash your hair right away with water fortified with amla. Alternatively, you can extract amla juice and combine it with a tablespoon of almond oil and a couple of lemon squeezers. Mix it thoroughly, apply it to your scalp and let it sit for a few minutes before washing your hair.
If you’re using amla powder, cook it in coconut oil until the oil changes color, then use it on your hair like oil. Wash it off with lukewarm water and see the results for yourself.
Curry leaves have a long history of medicinal use. You can use them to reverse premature gray hair by grinding them into a powder and combining them with coconut oil to apply to your scalp.
Lavleen’s grandma’s secret drug
One of the most effective remedies for gray hair is makhan (yes, butter!) And that’s no secret given the various benefits it offers.
“We all develop gray hair in our 20-30s, but I’ve seen my grandma use this treatment and she still has thick black hair. She just makes fresh makhan from cow’s milk, melts it easily, and uses it as a lubricant on her hair before washing it, ”she said.
You can do this twice a week for faster results, but keep in mind that the Makhan must consist exclusively of cow’s milk!
Fluted Guard (Torah)
Gourd gourd is known for its ability to repair pigment cells in hair follicles, thereby reversing gray hair. Dry a ridge guard in the sun, cook it in coconut oil, and keep it in the sun for four to five days before using it.
Onion juice Remedy is arguably the most frequently recommended tip on the internet. Imbalances in hydrogen peroxide lead to premature graying of the hair. When we use onion juice, this hydrogen peroxide can neutralize the catalase enzyme found in onions, which helps adore premature gray hair. So mix onion juice with a tablespoon of lemon peel and watch the wonders it does for your gray hair.
Use Black tea along with a herbal conditioner as it contains tannic acid which makes your hair darker. However, do not use shampoo afterwards as this can lead to hair drying out. You can shampoo your hair the next day.
In short, no matter what external or homemade remedies you try, unless your hair is strong and healthy inside, your gray hair will keep popping up. So your diet and lifestyle must be considered first, ”Lavleen said.
