Insurgent Wilson’s most empowering recommendation about her weight reduction

share your insight. early 2020, Rebel Wilson embarked on a lifestyle change that helped her reach her goal weight — which she has tried to inspire others with.

The actress documented the fitness journey, which initially led to her losing more than 60 pounds by November 2020. After Wilson revealed she had reached her goal weight of 165 pounds, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the How to Be Single star is “so proud of her weight loss and body transformation.”

“Rebel flew past her goal weight and continued to train after hitting that magic number,” the insider reported in February 2021 of her progress with the help of a personal trainer Jono Castano. “Not only did Rebel train with Jono six days a week, but he also did mini-workouts at home. Rebel was clearly on a mission to lose weight, and she did so to the utmost. She feels stronger, more confident.”

Wilson later opened up about the moment she decided to explore her “year of health.”

“It started when I was looking into fertility stuff and the doctor said, ‘Well, you’d have a much better chance if you were healthier,'” she shared during a July 2021 Instagram Live video. “It’s kind of what started out as if I lost some excess weight I would have a better chance of freezing eggs and the eggs would be better quality. … It wasn’t even really myself, it was more thinking of a future mini-me, really.”

A month later, the Bridesmaids star reflected on her decision to lose weight after a personal struggle. “Okay, I know I usually post unflattering photos of myself… but I found this old photo in my email and I was like, Whoa!” She shared a previous photo of her with Novak Djokovic via Instagram in August 2021. “I remember being at my most unhealthy then – being overweight and eating way too much junk food. Using food to numb my emotions.”

It was then that Wilson recalled how her relationship with her body changed in the midst of tragedy. “My father had died of a heart attack and it was such a sad time. I didn’t think much of myself and didn’t value myself the way I should have,” she noted. “It’s interesting that I’m still smiling and still trying to be active … despite being in so much pain.”

According to the Pitch Perfect star, she received surprising feedback from those closest to her when she started losing weight.

“I got a lot of backlash here in Hollywood from my own team when I said, ‘Okay, I’m going to do this ‘Year of Health.’ I feel like I’m really going to transform physically and change my life,'” she claimed during an interview on the BBC Breakfast Morning Show in December 2021. “And they said, ‘Why? Why do you want to do that?’ Because I’ve made millions of dollars by being the funny fat girl and being that person.”

Wilson found her focusing on the view she had of herself. “I know what it’s like to be a woman who’s been essentially invisible to most people because traditionally she’s not seen as beautiful or whatever,” she said. “It’s insane trying to adjust that. [It’s] better to be the healthiest version [of yourself].”

While celebrating her wellness accomplishments, Wilson also gushed about an exciting update in her dating life. “I thought I was looking for a Disney prince… but maybe I really needed a Disney princess all this time 💗🌈💗#loveislove,” she captioned an Instagram selfie of her and her friend.
