H&M launched its new activewear line with a marketing campaign that includes Jane Fonda

H&M is committed to getting everyone moving.

Today, the popular retailer unveiled its newest brand, H&M Move, a collection of activewear essentials that combine fashion and function. The brand says its new line is designed to provide “movers” with stylish essentials that allow them to feel comfortable and confident while on the move.

To celebrate the new launch, the brand brought in fitness icon Jane Fonda as the face of the campaign. Fonda changed the way people exercise with her now-iconic at-home fitness tape Jane Fonda’s Workout, so the role made perfect sense. And she showed off some of her classic moves alongside choreographer JaQuel Knight in a hilarious campaign video released yesterday.

“I’ve spent much of my own life getting people to move and was naturally drawn to H&M Move’s mission to get the whole world moving. I also really liked their philosophy of ‘movewear’ versus ‘sportswear’,” Fonda shared in the release. “For me it’s not about sport or about being as sporty as possible. It’s about giving your body the kind of exercise it needs to stay healthy so it can take care of you.”

However, the line is not just aimed at enthusiastic gym goers. The company says that “everyone on the planet” is already considered a “mover” just because they’ve moved.

“Removing barriers to sport is at the heart of our goal, starting with the democratization of sportswear,” said Simon Brown, general manager at H&M Move, in a press release. “We offer a wide range of movement apparel across multiple categories that are stylish, functional and of incredible value to our customers. Combined with our passion for getting each and every body moving, along with our movers Jane Fonda and JaQuel Knight, we are truly inspired for the journey that lies ahead.”

The first part of the collection, released this week, includes a variety of essentials suitable for every type of movement, from technical tops and lightweight jackets to bras and items designed specifically for running. Items start at just $13, with the majority falling in the $20-$35 range.

The line, which includes pieces for women, men and children, is available now in 2,500 stores worldwide and on the H&M website. Read on to shop some of our favorite pieces from the new launch.
