Scars occur when the second layer of skin is damaged and the body repairs it
Scars are a cause of low self-esteem in many teenagers.
When the second layer of skin called the dermis is damaged, your body produces collagen to repair the damage, and this results in a scar.
There’s no known way to completely remove the stains, but certain home remedies can help fade them and make scars less noticeable.
Read on to find out more.
Massage vitamin E onto pigmented skin
Open a vitamin E capsule and squeeze the liquid onto the scar.
Depending on the size or number of your scars, you may need more than one capsule.
Now massage the oil gently onto the scars and their surroundings for about 10 minutes.
Let it sit for another 10 minutes before washing it with water.
Repeat this twice a day for visible results.
Apply lemon juice to the scar daily to lighten it
Cut a slice from a fresh lemon.
Now gently squeeze the juice onto the scar while massaging it at the same time.
Do this for about 10-15 minutes and then rinse the area with cold water.
Alternatively, you can apply a potato slice in the same way.
Do this every day for at least a month to significantly lighten the appearance of scars.
Massage in coconut oil and leave for an hour
Coconut oil is an effective way to reduce blemishes and lighten the skin.
To use it to fade stains, all you need to do is heat the oil enough to liquefy it.
Gently apply a few drops of the oil to the scar and massage in with circular movements.
Leave it on for an hour. Do this twice a day for a month.
Apply diluted apple cider vinegar before bed
Mix four tablespoons of distilled water with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.
Dip a cotton ball in this mixture and dab it on the scar. Let it dry and rinse it off later.
You can also leave it overnight and wash it the next morning.
However, diluting apple cider vinegar is extremely important as its direct application can burn the skin.
