Barbara Jean Boltz Information, Sports activities, Jobs

Barb was born on April 7, 1948 to Frank and Susan Cornish Webster in Corry, PA. After graduating from Panama Central School in 1966, she began her career with the NYS Department of Transportation and has held various positions in the bureau throughout her 37 years, ending her career as an assistant to the transportation bureau. After her retirement she worked in the field of home health care for several years. She was a member of the War Vets Aid Committee for six years and was also Director of the Aid Committee at Westfield Memorial Hospital.

She married Joseph Boltz and had two children, Brian and Tara.

Barb’s personality was characterized by her great sense of humor. With her ability to find humor in real-life situations, she could make everyone laugh, which she certainly passed on to her children. Blessed by her mother with great compassion for others, she has spent her life helping people.

She enjoyed music and dancing, a love she was instilled in as a young girl. She accompanied her father to barn dances where he played the violin. In later years, she particularly enjoyed the music of her talented cousins, Junie Schenck and Bob Webster. “Because he lives” was one of her favorite anthems.

Barb greatly enjoyed babies and young children, valued her role as a mother, and formed great relationships with her nieces and nephews. She also had a special relationship with Phillip “joey” McCuen.

She was blessed with several wonderful friends. Among them was a valued collaborator, Rose Latimer, Judy Fingerhut, and a lifelong friend, Carol Widrig. Each of these relationships brought her joy, comfort, and support.

Barb was preceded by her parents; Ex-husband Joseph Boltz and dear son Brian.

She is survived by her cherished daughter Tara; three sisters, Deanna Edwards, Pamela (William) Sali and Patricia (Jeffrey) Fitzgerald and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Westfield Fire Department and the EMTs.
