2022 MLB Draft: Stay Updates, Evaluation of Each Decide; Jackson Holliday turns into No. 1, Rangers get Kumar Rocker

The 2022 Major League Baseball draft got underway Sunday night when the Baltimore Orioles picked Jackson Holliday, a high school shortstop, with the No. 1 pick overall. Kumar Rocker, a former Vanderbilt star, was drafted No. 3 by Rangers in a draft night surprise.

The MLB draft was pushed back again from its usual June 2022 date and moved to Los Angeles to coincide with the All-Star Game celebrations (the Home Run Derby is scheduled for Monday before the All-Star Game on Tuesday scheduled). Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2022 MLB draft will be played on Sunday evening, rounds 3-10 on Monday and rounds 11-20 on Tuesday.
